Millennium was engaged by Central Plain Water Limited (CPWL) to conduct thermographic imaging, analysis and reporting on 48 irrigation stations throughout Central Plains. Our tasks included imaging Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), electrical motors and terminals, and performing comprehensive thermal scans of the main switchboard and controls. To facilitate accurate imaging, we removed covers on all electrical terminals and ramped up pumps to ensure sufficient load was applied during the imaging process. After capturing the thermographic images, we analysed them and compiled detailed reports for the client’s insurer.
Our team consists of fully trained and certified Thermographers, ensured the highest level of precision and reliability in all aspects of the project. The extensive training was critical in managing the complexities of the project from capturing the images to delivering comprehensive reports.
Key Information:
Project Size
- 2x Millennium Employees
- 3000+ Thermographic Images captured and analysed
- 48 Sites Visited

Complexity Managed
The project highlights included daily inspections to the rural locations of each site, which provided opportunities to interact with and understand the irrigation scheme that supports numerous farms throughout the Central Plains.
Project Outcomes
This hands-on experience allowed us to gain deeper appreciation of the agricultural infrastructure and the pivotal role of efficient irrigation systems in the region. The combination of our technical skills and understanding of the local irrigation systems was essential in delivering successful outcomes for CPWL.
The reports are very good. Thanks for the time and effort that you crew have put into them. They look spot on!
